The Morris Pratt Institute of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is introducing a Pastoral Skills Training Seminar for those in the ministry of Spiritualism as follows:

1. On-site visit of processing units at local hospital such as:
- Admitting - Emergency
- Out-Patient Clinics
- Diagnostic & Treatment Centers
- Intensive Care Units, etc.

B. Communication with the Confined
1. Information and ideas
2. Expression of feeling
3. Communication and listening

C. Long term Patient and Shut-in
1. Their fears, (financial, rehabilitation, returning home)
2. ABC's of nursing home visitation
3. Communicating with those visually and/or hearing impaired person
4. Communication with the aging
5. Talking to (not about) the person

D. Person in Crisis
1. The person and family facing transition
2. Communication with the dying
3. Supporting the bereaved (including stages of grief)

E. Community Help and Self-help Resources
1. How to locate
2. Utilization

II. Funerals and Support of Bereaved
A. Visit to Funeral Home
1. Familiarization of experiences of the bereaved with the funeral director
a. Making funeral arrangements, selecting casket, etc.
2. Noting design of funeral home chapel
a. Noting musical resources

B. Visiting/Counseling the Family
1. Learning wishes for content of service

C. Designing the Service
1. The service at the funeral home, its message and music
